For years, Rutabaga put on the Door Co Sea Kayak Symposium at Rowley‘s Bay in Door Co, WI. The lodge at Rowley‘s Bay Resort burned down & the venue wasn‘t held in 2024. (A bunch of the participants did get together anyway)
This year, they are putting on their "Camp Rutabaga" in Boulder Junction. It is open to all types of kayaks, canoes.
They have world class instructors, and the camaraderie there is just unbelievable!
https://www.rutabaga.com/camprutabaga
I will be attending. Plan on camping nearby, and can help with car pooling.
Registration is limited & the event will fill up fast!

Join us for our end of season camping trip. This year we will be at Brunet Island North Campground, get your campsites early! Last year we had sites 53, 55, & 57.
This year I have reserved tent sites #36 and #37. These will allow a maximum of 6 people per site. Let me know if you would like to camp on one of these sites with us. These spots allow us to push our kayaks straight off from our sites. As of 3/21 site #34 is still open as well. That way we can be all together. If you need an electric site, those are on the South Campground and you can book those separately.
There are some fun options, we can go up the Fischer River and/or if you would like we can go up the Chippewa River to the Holcombe Dam. If people would like we can also go out on Friday and Saturday evenings and watch the sunset on the Chippewa River and then come back and have a campfire. If it is raining there are a few restaurants that would be available to eat at.
If people want to join for the day, they are more than welcome. You can bring food to cook over the campfire if you wish.
