Eau Claire River Paddle on Sunday -- ALMOST FULL
Author Last Post

Hi Kathy,

I didn't have your contact info so I thought I would get you the travel information this way. That area that I was talking about west of Grand Lake is Colorado Highway 1. It veers off at State Bridge, CO and meanders along the Colorado River until it joins back up with the pavement in Kremmling, CO. Looks like it's all National Forest land out there. If you look up State Bridge Recreation Site on recreation.gov it should give you info on the campsites along that stretch that we had talked about. Just in case RMNP is closed.

Happy travelling,

Kevin

Eau Claire River Trip Paddlers,

A few things for those of you paddling the Eau Claire River tomorrow:

• Please arrive by 10:30 and try to unload quickly so others can pull up and do the same. Be ready to shuttle your vehicle to the D Bridge area in Fall Creek by 11 am. If you are not ready by then you will need to leave your vehicle at the out in and get shuttled back after.

• you won’t need to purchase a park permit just to unload — no permit is needed at D bridge. You will need a permit if you are leaving your car at Harstad Park.

• Life jackets are required to be worn — please follow this club rule.

• Some things to bring along: water, snacks, dry clothes, towel, bug spray, sunscreen and a hat. And don’t forget your paddle!

• Finally we will have a quick on-the-water meeting before the group takes off down the river. So please hold tight if you get out there first. We have a big group!

Thanks,

Looking forward to a great day on the water!!

Kathy

Hi Paddlers,

The Eau Claire River trip this coming Sunday is filling up fast! It is capped at 20 paddlers for safety reasons. We have 13 registered so far and several others who have expressed an interest. Please register on our website to get one of the remaining spots. I will be sending an email to those registered on Saturday with last minute information.

Remember that there are several other awesome padding outings scheduled this summer including the Hay River and also the Chippewa River on June 10th. Both of these should be really great.

Thanks and happy paddling!

Kathy
