Events - Event View

One of my favorite places on the Chippewa River goes from the Chippewa River Boat Landing (just below the Main Street bridge in Chippewa) to the Wheaton Boat Landing. There is no better time to do this than when the Blue Angels are flying over head! I have tried to time this trip with the air show so we can watch them zooming right over our heads! Feel free to bring ear plugs.

We will meet at the Chippewa River Boat landing at 1pm to unload the kayaks and shuttle vehicles. Feel free to bring beverages and snacks to enjoy. This will be more of a float than a paddle. Especially at the end we will be floating while watching the jets.

This area of the Chippewa is much safer to be on the water during the airshow because many motorize boats cannot make it up stream that far. I specifically chose the Wheaton Landing to shuttle to because it is free and there tend to be less people with motorized boats that take out there. If you would like to paddle to River Jams or Lake Hallie Sportsman's Club before taking out, that is just fine, they are right across the river from the Wheaton Landing.

Depending on the water level there may be an area or two where you have to get out of your kayak, walk a few steps and then get back in.
