Pumpkin Paddle Oct 3 - 6pm

Join us for the club’s ANNUAL PUMPKIN PADDLE & POTLUCK SOCIAL at 6pm at Coon Fork Campground, Augusta. We drop off our food & chair at the campsite then launch our boats on the lake at dusk. PFD’S & LIGHTS REQUIRED FOR ALL BOATS.

Please go to the club calendar for more details & to SIGN UP so we know how many people to expect on the water & Dave has a head count for Brats. Also reply on the forum as to what food you are bringing to avoid duplicates.

This is a fun social event to squeeze in one more fun paddle followed by sitting around a campfire socializing & eating good food. A warm campfire is great for socializing even if you don’t paddle.

Join us for all or part of the evening. You don’t have to paddle or even eat if you prefer, just show up and hang out for a while. A text to me in this case would be appreciated. Remember warm clothing for after dark. Dave also requests we bring firewood if we have any.

Dave usually gets a campsite in Loop D to use for our potluck. We drop off our food, beverages, chairs, serving utensils & plug in any crock pots before launching at the nearby campground boat launch. Here’s a link to take you directly to the boat launch: MXXM+WJ9 Augusta, Wisconsin. Just copy & past in google maps.

Here’s a map of the campground showing Loop D campsites & the adjacent boat launch. https://www.eccountyparks.com/parks/i/lg/coon_fork_campground.pdf

Remember: PADDLING AFTER DARK REQUIRES A LIGHT. Headlamps seem most convenient because we can also use them in the campsite afterward.

Since off season camping is available at Coon Fork on a first come, first served basis Dave doesn’t know our exact campsite until the afternoon of the Pumpkin Paddle when he arrives & selects an available site, usually close to the boat launch. Cell service is limited at the park so he usually texts one of us with the exact site number to pass on to the others. This also means last minute calls to Dave won’t go through if he’s already at the park.

I’m bringing 12 Tropical Sorbet “cups” for the first 12 that sign up. They are delicious! Bring a spoon.

I’m also bringing kale salad.

Dave is in campsite 9, in Loop D at Coon Fork Campground.

I hope to arrive early around 5pm.
