Great!

I'll bring Jambalaya for you. Can you bike Kathy? Or is the wrist preventing that also?

We'd love to have anyone interested join us for all or part of the Madeline Island excursion! Probably will need to take your own car to the ferry, as we don't have a big enough bike rack, but we won't be driving to the island. I'm still in recovery so won't ride a great distance ((:). There can be a little hiking and maybe swimming or wading also. Everyone can participate as their abilities allow! The shrimp/fish boil is first come first serve starting at 5, so we'll be aiming to get to the Inn between 4:30 and 4:45. I'm pretty amped up for this!

Sonia, I would like to take you up on your offer of jambalaya and

I will bring something to share. Thanks!

Sonia and Kathy,

Mary Lynn & I will bringing bicycles as well as kayaks to Little Sand Bay.

Is there room for 2 more bicycles in the Madeline Island Cycling Expedition on Saturday?

And a Wisconsin Fish Boil would be divine.

Cherry pie anyone? Oops, that might be Door County's tradition.

Apple pie w/ thimble berry sounds good.

steve

I won’t be paddling (broken wrist) but would be interested in joining the Madaline Island outing on Sat.

We are interested in your jambalaya and will contribute something delicious (tbd) for that meal. Thanks Sonia!

I registered! Bill Bertram and I are coming up Friday, but not kayaking. Does he need to register also? We are staying in the same tent. Our plan, if anyone wants to join for any or all of it, is to take the ferry to Madeline Island with our bikes on Saturday, do some biking, hike a little and maybe swim at Big Bay State Park, and have the shrimp and fish boil at the Inn on Madeline Island at 5. Then ferry back to Little Sand Bay for the campfire. Also, I'm happy to bring Jambalaya for dinner on Friday if anyone wants any! Just as easy to make enough for everyone as it is to make for 2. So let me know if you are in. The weather looks flawless!

Is there still space available? I can't sea kayak this year and I'm not even sure about rec kayaking, but I can certainly swim and socialize. The weather looks flawless for camping!

Hello, fellow paddlers.

Just a reminder that the Rookie Rendezvous Plus is fast approaching. The event will take place at Little Sand Bay Campground and starts on July 10th. It's a very nice campground with showers and a wonderful view of the sunset over Lake Superior. We have reserved a group site and the fellowship in past years has been a highlight of the trip.

As the name implies, we have added the "rec boat" portion for those who are not into sea kayaking. If you are choosing this option you will need a pfd, as with all club-sponsored group paddles. Please, be aware that rec boaters will not be paddling to Sand Island nor any of the sea caves. This is due to the safety concerns that those trips carry with them.

All sea kayakers will be required to demonstrate rescues and have boats and gear as listed in the event description at the sign-up page. These will have to be verified by qualified members in advance of the trip.

All camping is self-supported and you will supply your own food and camping gear. The fee is only $40, which is very cheap for three nights of camping and guide service.

As your trip leader, I am requesting that all who are registering for the Rookie Rendezvous Plus send me an email indicating what kind of boat you are bringing (rec boat or sea kayak). This will help with planning on my side. Also, sea kayakers, I need to know who has verified your gear and rescue demonstrations. So, please indicate that info in your email to me.

If you are interested in the sea kayak portion and need your rescues and gear checked off, you can have this done on the 21st at Lake Wazee or an Lake Wissota on the 25th. Both are on the calendar. If neither days work for your schedule, we will work you in my, or another qualified paddler's, schedule. So, let me know if you need someone to meet with you for this.

Lastly, if you are short on gear, there are multiple people who in the past have been willing to loan kayaks and other gear. So, let us know what you need to get you outfitted for the trip and we'll get you there.

My email address is stepheconnelly@gmail.com.

I look forward to having you along on this trip.
