Who’s Interested in Kayak Pool Sessions?
Author Last Post

Hi Everyone,

PWP is seeking your input to gauge interest in kayak pool sessions in April.

PWP is looking at renting the Bloomer pool on April 23rd or 30th or both dates.

This is a great opportunity to learn rescues. Self rescues & assisted recues are skills required to attend the Rookie Rendezvous. The pool is a great place to practice recuse skills and rolls for the advanced paddler.

Algae is a huge concern for pools. All paddlecraft need to be disinfected inside and outside to kill algae. Also, all sand and dirt removed inside and out. A vacuum cleaner works great.

Life jackets are required. If working on self rescues bring your own paddle float. Kayaks with bulkheads are recommended or floatation devices in both ends. If your kayak does not have bulkheads or flotation devices(Styrofoam) floatation bags or sea sock will be needed in the kayak. Doing rescues in a kayak without floatation is just about impossible.

I do have an extra kayak and sea sock someone could barrow.

Please respond ASAP if you want to attend. Also are you interested in one pool session or two? Please respond by March 26 if you want to attend.

Thanks
