What is this?
Put -in is at Stones Bridge and the take out is at Winniboujou Landing. It is a long day trip with 3.5 hours driving each way for a 4-5 hours on the water. One thing that makes it a great trip is we will paddle the principal trapping and transportation route of the voyageurs that opened up the central mid-west and we will also pass the "summer white house" of President Grover Cleveland.
The river is generally 40-60 feet wide with a few "lakes" that are a mile or so long. There are 6-7 grade 1 rapids, beginner level, that keep the trip interesting.
We will meet at Walmart in Lake Hallie in the small parking lot across from Culver's AT 8:00 AM and try to pool boats and people to reduce the number of vehicles traveling. Please share expenses with your ride.
We expect to stop somewhere to eat on the return trip.
Please register if you expect to participate.
